Gina Tonn, PhD, PE, CFM, LEED AP
Senior Project Manager, Sustainability Advisory Practice Lead
Dr. Tonn has more than 20 years of experience including research, project management, and water resources and environmental engineering. She is responsible for climate change and resilience services at Verdantas. Her interdisciplinary background includes experience in consulting, academia, and state government. Before joining Verdantas, Dr. Tonn conducted research related to resilient communities and infrastructure systems and flood risk management at the Wharton Risk Center. At Johns Hopkins University, she participated in an interdisciplinary fellowship program in the water, climate, and health field. Her dissertation research focused on risk analysis for weather-related natural hazards in a changing climate. She previously served as a water resources engineer and project manager at the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC) and Verdantas, focusing on flood risk and stormwater management. She serves as a board member for the Delaware Chapter of the American Water Resources Association. Dr. Tonn served on a review panel for FEMA’s Building Resilient Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) grant program in 2020.
