The 2022 Annual Conference for the Colorado Association of Stormwater and Floodplain Managers (CASFM) is being held in Steamboat Springs, Colorado from September 13-16, 2022. This annual conference is held for practitioners and regulators to exchange ideas and experiences on policies and activities dealing with stormwater management and floodplain management in Colorado.

David Pizzi, PE, CFM, and Senior Hydraulic Engineer at Alden will be sharing his hydraulic design and floodplain permitting experiences in a presentation titled "Benefits of a Collaborative Approach to Floodplain Permitting." This presentation is part of the People track in the technical sessions offered Wednesday afternoon and Thursday.

In his presentation, Dave, along with his co-presenter and lead designer, will share floodplain permitting success stories from a Design-Build project for the Colorado Department of Transportation to add express lanes to ~14 miles of Interstate 25 near Fort Collins—successes attributed to our design team’s collaborative approach with federal, state, and local floodplain administrators to obtain the needed floodplain permits at the 4 locations where the interstate crosses FEMA-regulated floodways.
