Award honors the memory of Pamela E. Klatt, long time NWHA Board member.

Alden’s Chick Sweeney will receive the prestigious Pamela Klatt award for his outstanding contribution and commitments to the Northwest hydropower industry. The award will be presented at the NWHA annual conference on February 18. More information about the award and the past recipients can be found here: https://www.nwhydro.org/awards.html

Mr. Sweeney is a recognized expert in applying field data collection programs as well as both physical and computer-based hydraulic models to solve facility site selection, design, and permitting problems. He has managed well over 200 such studies throughout the United States and overseas. He has performed conceptual design of and managed field studies and hydraulic model analyses to support detailed design of fish exclusion and passage facilities at hydroelectric projects throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Chick is the founder of Alden’s Redmond, Washington laboratory (since relocated to Everett, Washington), originally Engineering Hydraulics, Inc. The firm was eventually owned by ENSR and then AECOM until the 2012 Alden acquisition.
