Patriotic Employer Recognition Awarded

Verdantas was recently honored to have received the Patriotic Employer Award. This award was created to recognize employers of National Guard or Reserve members for their continued support. Verdantas was nominated by SGT Amanda Green who recently left Verdantas to pursue a new career opportunity with the Army National Guard. Verdantas Senior Project Manager and Department Manager, Lindsay Crow, accepted the award from Amanda Green

Amanda Green joined Verdantas as a Hydrogeologist in March 2020, and in November 2021, began working a full-time schedule as a Logistics Supervisor for the Ohio National Guard. During that time, she continued working limited hours for Verdantas as a Hydrogeologist.

For Lindsay, finding a fit for Amanda came without hesitation. Amanda was able to fulfill her military obligations while working with the Bedford due diligence team. It was only recently that Amanda had to relinquish her role at Verdantas in order to pursue her military career with the Army National Guard

According to Lindsay, "Amanda has a really great opportunity to become a UH-60 Helicopter Repairer. While she won't be able to continue working with us, I'm really excited to see her further her military career and we continue to champion Amanda in all her pursuits."

Lindsay's enthusiastic support of her fellow staff was evident as she explained the reaction she and her colleagues had to another military member on staff who received new training orders from the Army Reserves.

"For our team, it's all about putting a proactive plan in place to keep projects and tasks on track" Lindsay said. "Our response is always 'what do you need and how can we support you' so that our employees can go on leave and return to their role without worry. Our team is always ready to step in and support each other whether it is project or personally related. We are a family here and it is evident as we see team members step up to support each other.”

Employees serving in the National Guard or Reserve may nominate individual supervisors and bosses for the Patriot Award in recognition of the support they've provided directly to citizen warriors through a wide-range of measures including flexible schedules, time off prior to and after deployment, caring for families, and granting leaves of absence if needed.
