The WSFS Bank Sportsplex is a transformative 32-acre development in Chester, PA, bridging Subaru Park and the Union Power Plant office. Designed to serve both professional athletes and the local community, the complex includes seven outdoor multi-sport fields and two major indoor facilities: a 100,000 sq ft community-accessible building and a 70,000 sq ft support center for Philadelphia Union II and the Union Academy.
Verdantas played a critical role in environmental mitigation for this brownfields site, which has a legacy of chemical waste dating back to the Industrial Revolution. To protect future occupants, our team oversaw the installation of 170,000 sq ft of Geo-Seal 60 vapor barrier—a robust, spray-applied system offering superior chemical resistance and durability.
Despite challenging winter conditions, Verdantas ensured seamless installation through proactive coordination with Budget Maintenance, EPRO, and the project’s development and construction manager BPGS Construction Our third-party inspection protocols and QA/QC measures provided peace of mind and demonstrated our commitment to excellence.
This project highlights Verdantas’ expertise in brownfields redevelopment, environmental risk mitigation, and collaborative project delivery—bringing new life to legacy landscapes.
