Chief Financial Officer

Mark Hardaway leads Verdantas’ finance organization, guiding strategy, performance management, and capital planning in support of the company’s digitally enabled, people‑focused mission. As CFO, he partners across operations and technology to strengthen budgeting and forecasting, accelerate decision‑quality reporting, and drive disciplined, value‑creating growth through both organic initiatives and acquisitions. 

A seasoned finance executive, Mark brings deep experience in private‑equity–backed environments and the engineering and consulting sectors. His career includes building internal banking programs, leading complex royalty transactions, and overseeing multi‑country revenue portfolios. He has modernized close processes, enhanced compliance frameworks, and deployed business intelligence to improve visibility and accountability for executive teams. 

At Verdantas, Mark’s focus is on unifying the finance function around clear objectives and transparent metrics—streamlining working capital, sharpening investment decisions, and enabling faster, data‑driven insights that support project delivery and client outcomes. He is a proponent of practical operating systems and digital tools that reduce meeting time, simplify governance, and put timely information at leaders’ fingertips. Mark balances a passion for continuous improvement with a collaborative leadership style that aligns finance to Verdantas’ long‑term vision.   

Mark holds an MBA and MHA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a B.S. from Butler University. He currently resides in Colorado with his wife and two children.
