Musikfest 2025 | Bethlehem, PA
Musikfest in Bethlehem, PA, is the largest free music festival in the U.S., featuring over 500 performances across 15 free stages during its 10-day run. Alongside music, the festival hosts hundreds of foods, artisans, and retail vendors.
At the heart of it all are the volunteers. This year, a team from Verdantas, along with family and friends, joined in to help serve beer to festivalgoers. As one volunteer put it, “It’s so much fun because everyone is happy!”

This year’s cohort included 24 students from 7 universities, with backgrounds in civil engineering and urban planning. Verdantas’ impact was driven by the volunteer leadership of Meredith Church, Chair of WTS-OC Student Outreach, and Tracy Roberts, committee member, who helped shape the experience and inspire future industry professionals.

Duck Race Fundraiser for Why Me & Sherry’s House | Holden, MA
This year’s Flow Labs Annual Picnic and Charity Duck Race raised over $1,000 in support of Why Me & Sherry’s House, a Worcester-based nonprofit dedicated to helping Central New England families cope with childhood cancer.
Founded in 1985 by 13-year-old Sherry Shepherd during her own courageous battle with cancer, Why Me, short for Worcester Help for Youth, Memories Everlasting, was Sherry’s vision for a lasting legacy of support and compassion.
As part of the festivities, employees could sponsor a duck for $10, with all proceeds going directly to Why Me. The duck race created fun, friendly competition, and a shared sense of purpose at the picnic, bringing the Flow Labs community together around a cause that offers hope and healing to families when they need it most.

Beach Plum Island Cleanup | Lewes, DE
After Hurricane Erin passed along the East Coast, the Lewes, Delaware office mobilized for a beach cleanup at Beach Plum Island near Cape Henlopen. Volunteers collected multiple loads of trash and even enjoyed some catch-and-release fishing—flounder, bluefish, and sand sharks.
The Lewes team also serves as the self-appointed horseshoe crab rescue squad, flipping stranded crabs and guiding them back to the water. These efforts help protect a vital food source for migratory birds.

Rolands Drive Against Cancer | Holden, MA
In late August, Andy Johansson and colleagues from Verdantas Flow Labs participated in the 4th annual Roland’s Drive Against Cancer Memorial Golf Tournament, an event that holds deep personal meaning for Andy. The cause is close to his heart: four years ago, Andy lost a close friend to Glioblastoma, and Ned Taft, former president of Alden, also passed away from the same disease.

Westbrook Youth and Family Services Charity Night | Middletown, CT
On July 29th, a group of volunteers from our Middletown, CT office came together to support Westbrook Youth & Family Services through a meaningful charity project. Thanks to a generous paint donation from True Value Hardware’s “Painting a Brighter Future” program, the team helped refresh the organization’s space, giving it a vibrant new look.
The transformation was incredible, and the energy from our volunteers made the experience even better. The project was completed in no time, with plenty of laughs and teamwork along the way.
