Following severe flooding and erosion impacts within the Town of Hardwick, Vermont, Verdantas supported the community's NRCS Emergency Watershed Protection (EWP) Bank Stabilization Project, helping move the effort from concept through construction. The project focused on repairing flood-damaged locations along the Lamoille River and Cooper Brook while reducing future erosion risks and protecting critical infrastructure.  

Working closely with the Town and project stakeholders, Verdantas provided survey, hydraulic modeling, engineering design, permitting, bidding assistance, and construction-phase services. Hydraulic analyses were completed for multiple stream reaches to evaluate flow conditions and inform the design of bank stabilization measures tailored to each site. 

The project includes stabilization work at locations including Mill Street, Brush Street, and Route 14, where flood-related erosion threatened streambanks and nearby infrastructure. Through targeted stabilization measures, the project helps restore watershed function, improve long-term channel stability, and reduce the risk of future damage.  

By guiding the project from planning and analysis through construction support, Verdantas helped the Town of Hardwick implement practical solutions that strengthen infrastructure resilience and support long-term watershed recovery.
